Data controller

The data controller is Riccardo Calvi, the sole proprietorship that runs La Dimora, based in Via Nurallao 12, scala 1, interno 1, 00054 Fiumicino (RM). For any privacy question: info@ladimoragh.it · +39 06 56559 943. We have not appointed a data protection officer (DPO), as one is not required for our business.

This notice is provided under articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and D.Lgs. 196/2003 (the Italian Privacy Code).

Visiting the website

The website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd, on servers in the European Union. Like any web server, it automatically records the IP address, date and time, requested page and browser type in its technical logs. These are used only to run the website and protect it from abuse (legitimate interest, art. 6.1.f GDPR) and are deleted by the provider after a limited period. Hostinger processes them on our behalf as a data processor.

Fonts, images and videos are served from our own server: we do not use external services such as Google Fonts or YouTube.

The map is an exception (on the home page, Getting here and Contact): when you scroll to it, your browser downloads the map tiles from the OpenFreeMap servers, which receive your IP address as with any web resource. It receives no other data and uses no cookies.

Enquiries by email or phone

If you write to us or call us, we use your name, contact details and the content of your message only to reply to you (pre-contractual measures, art. 6.1.b GDPR). We keep the conversation for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and, if a booking follows, together with the details of your stay.

Booking and stay

To manage your booking we process your name, contact details, dates, number of guests, amounts and payment details (performance of the contract, art. 6.1.b GDPR). Direct bookings go through the booking engine linked to the website, which processes the data on our behalf; card payments are handled by the payment service provider. If you book on Airbnb or Booking.com, that platform is an independent controller of your data under its own privacy notice.

On arrival the law requires us to ask each guest for an ID document and to report their details to the Questura (police headquarters) through the Alloggiati Web service of the Polizia di Stato (art. 109 TULPS). We also process the data needed for the Roma Capitale tourist tax, for tourism statistics (in aggregate form) and for tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation, art. 6.1.c GDPR).

We keep booking data for the duration of the relationship and then for 10 years, as required by tax and civil law (art. 2220 of the Codice civile, the Italian Civil Code). ID document data is used only for the mandatory reports.

Providing this data is necessary: without it, we cannot confirm your booking or host you.

Who we share data with

Only those we need in order to provide your stay or to comply with the law: the hosting provider and the booking engine provider (as data processors), the payment provider, our accountant, and public authorities for legal obligations (Questura, Roma Capitale, Agenzia delle Entrate – the Italian Revenue Agency – and statistics bodies).

We do not sell or pass on your data to third parties for advertising. Apart from the transfers described on this page, we do not transfer data outside the European Union; we do not make automated decisions or carry out profiling.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format or object to processing based on legitimate interest (articles 15–22 of the GDPR). Just write to info@ladimoragh.it: we reply within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (the Italian data protection authority) or with the supervisory authority of your own country.

Statistics (Google Analytics)

Only if you accept it in the cookie banner do we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Ltd, to learn in aggregate form how many people visit the website, which pages they read and where they come from. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR and art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code). Without consent Google Analytics is not even loaded.

Google Analytics does not store the full IP address; we do not use this data for advertising, we do not enable advertising features and we do not combine it with other data. Google processes the data on our behalf and may transfer it to Google LLC in the United States, which participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023). Data is kept in Google Analytics for 14 months.

You can withdraw your consent at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page: the Google Analytics cookies are then deleted.

Cookies

Without consent the website stores only your cookie choice in the browser (localStorage): for 12 months if you accept, for 6 months if you reject, after which we ask again. This is a technical tool and does not require consent.

With your consent Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies (lasting up to 2 years) to tell visits apart. We do not use profiling or advertising cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

The linked external websites (booking engine, Airbnb, Booking.com, Google Maps, partner services) use their own cookies when you visit them, under their own privacy notices.
